In order to fully study and understand the subject of Miami’s culinary history, you must study others’ perspective of the subject. Meet Grace Della, originally from Argentina, she is a food lover and the queen of empanada making. Like many that have come to the Magic City to start anew, Grace found her niche in food and Miami Culinary Tours was born with the original South Beach Culinary Tour. In a short amount of time, the company has grown to be highly successful expanding to include a handful of tour guides and three additional tour options: Little Havana Food Tour, Cuban Inspired Food Tour, and the Miami City Food Tour.
Miami Culinary Tours is like the Cliff’s Notes version to eating in Miami. The mission? 2 1/2 hours to eat, walk, eat, drink, and eat your way through Miami’s culinary landscape. Or on the mission to dispel the notion that Miami is strictly beaches, clubs and hookers. Who says Miami doesn’t have history? Julia Tuttle’s oranges, Gianni Versace’s shooting and a dash of Art Deco, you’ll learn it all on the tour. And the food, well, it tells its own story.
The restaurants chosen for the tour act as different characters- different characters that make up what is Miami’s culinary spectrum, the melting pot. Research and development are key and restaurants on the tour change on a periodically. Above all, the most important aspect is to provide customers with a true taste of Miami while giving them an experience that is off the beaten path.
Everyone tells their own story differently. Miami Culinary Tours is Grace Della’s story of Miami’s cuisine- Latin American with hints of American and European influences…
